Namibia Post Limited (NamPost) has issued a public apology to social grant beneficiaries and stakeholders following disruptions during the launch of the National Social Cash Grant payment and reregistration programme.

The new payment model, introduced on 13 October 2025, caused delays and logistical challenges for many recipients. In a statement released on Monday, NamPost expressed regret for any inconvenience caused, acknowledging the negative impact on beneficiaries.

“We extend our sincere apologies to all grant recipients, the public at large, and our valued stakeholders who were negatively affected in any manner whatsoever,” the statement read.

Despite the initial hiccups, NamPost reported that 191,032 grants, representing 64% of the 299,637 eligible payments, had been successfully disbursed by 24 October. Payments were carried out through both post office branches and mobile teams across the country.

NamPost confirmed that all mobile teams are now fully operational and that regional offices have extended working hours to accommodate beneficiaries. The company emphasized that this reflects the staff’s commitment to ensuring smooth service delivery.

To prevent further disruptions, NamPost has released a structured payment schedule for November 2025. Mobile payments will begin on 03 November, with in-branch payments staggered according to grant type. Beneficiaries are urged to follow their designated dates and prioritise the elderly and disabled.

Recipients are also advised against traveling long distances, as mobile teams will continue servicing regular pay points. Daily updates will be provided via NBC radio, and payment schedule posters will be displayed at post offices nationwide.
