NIPAM to Train School Leadership Teams to Strengthen Education Management and performance

School leadership teams across Namibia are expected to undergo leadership and management training following discussions between the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) and the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, where representatives from NIPAM met with officials from the ministry to explore possible cooperation aimed at improving management and leadership capacity in schools across the country. NIPAM was represented by Manager for Marketing and Business Development Johannes Hatutale and Marketing Officer Surelda Andrew.
The proposed programme will focus on training school leadership, not only principals, but also Heads of Department, education inspectors, chief education officers and other officials responsible for the administration of schools. The training will include participants from both top-performing and underperforming schools, with the aim of strengthening leadership, improving decision-making and enhancing overall school performance.
According to Hatutale, the training is expected to start on 1 June 2026, beginning with five regions, Khomas, Kavango East, ǁKharas, Kunene and Omaheke, before being expanded to the remaining regions in later stages.
The initiative is intended to strengthen leadership in the education sector and support efforts to improve the quality of education in all 14 regions of Namibia.
