Senior Police Officers Reshuffled in Regional Leadership Changes

The Inspector General of Police has announced a reshuffle involving several senior officers, with new appointments and transfers set to take effect on 1 May 2026.

Among the changes, Commissioner Julia Sakua-Neo has been transferred from the Kavango West Police Regional Headquarters to the Zambezi Police Regional Headquarters, where she will assume duties as Regional Commander.

Commissioner Andreas Nelumbu, who has been serving in the Office of the Inspector General as Presidential Security Chief, has been reassigned to the Kavango West Police Regional Headquarters. He will take over as Regional Commander.

Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria will leave the Oshana Police Regional Headquarters to join the Office of the Inspector General, where he has been appointed as the new Presidential Security Chief.

At the same time, Commissioner Andreas Shipingana Shilelo has been moved from the Zambezi Police Regional Headquarters to the Oshana Police Regional Headquarters and will serve as Regional Commander.

The latest changes are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and operational management within the police service.
