12-Year-Old Takes Own Life After Being Asked to Bath

A somber cloud hangs over the Ombili location in Otjiwarongo after a 12-year-old schoolboy, identified as Shikudule Michael, reportedly died by suicide on Monday.
The tragic event unfolded shortly after he was asked to take a bath.
According to Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, the Otjozondjupa Police Regional Spokesperson, Michael allegedly hanged himself in the family’s toilet.
His mother grew concerned when he took an unusually long time, and upon checking, she made the devastating discovery of him with a belt around his neck.
Police were immediately alerted, and Michael’s body was transported to the Otjiwarongo State Hospital mortuary.
Unanswered Questions Surround Boy’s Death
However, this incident raises a significant question: Did Michael take his own life solely because he was told to bathe, or was there more to this tragic decision? The seemingly simple request has left many doubting if such an act could stem from that alone.
