A 37-year-old woman has died in an apparent suicide

A 37-year-old woman has died in an apparent suicide incident at Muveve Village in the Kavango West Region.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga confirmed that the deceased, identified as Lyevera Naimi Nankal, was discovered on Thursday morning after allegedly taking her own life. She was reportedly found hanging from a tree, and efforts to save her were unsuccessful.

The body was later taken to the Bunya Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death. Police have also confirmed that her next of kin have been informed.

Authorities said investigations into the matter are continuing.
