A new school hall and upgraded playground are among key developments set to improve learning conditions at Omaalala Primary School in the Oshana Region, following a pledge by activist Job Amupanda.

Amupanda, who serves as the school’s patron, has committed to funding infrastructure projects aimed at benefiting hundreds of learners. His planned donation will support the construction of a hall and the renovation of the playground, addressing some of the school’s pressing needs.

He also revealed plans to introduce additional improvements, including modern ablution facilities and computer laboratories, as part of a broader effort to enhance the learning environment.

This initiative adds to his previous contributions to education, which include the construction of classrooms and an administrative block at Otanana Combined School in the Oshikoto Region, as well as classrooms at Limbandungila Combined School in the Ohangwena Region.

Amupanda emphasised that education is a shared responsibility, calling on communities and stakeholders to support schools and work alongside government to improve conditions for learners.

The school’s principal, Emilia Simeon, highlighted challenges such as aging infrastructure and insufficient ablution facilities. She noted that the school board introduced a patron system to help raise funds and attract support for development projects.
