Crocodile Attack Claim the Life of Nine-Year-Old

A nine-year-old girl has died after being attacked by a crocodile in the Kavango River at Mazwa village in the Musese Constituency of Kavango West.
The incident is reported to have happened on Saturday at about 11:00. The child, identified as Kakuvi Anna Kasiku, was with three other children who were herding cattle near the river at the time.
Police say the girl went to the river to wash her feet when she was suddenly attacked. It is alleged that the crocodile struck her with its tail before pulling her into deep water.
The other children, aged between eight and 14, reportedly ran away in fear and alerted nearby adults, who then contacted the police.
The girl’s body was later found a short distance from the scene. Her remains were taken to Bunya Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted. The family of the deceased has been informed.
