KK United FC appoints Richard Gariseb as assistant coach ahead of new campaign as they prepare to announce new head coach
KK United FC have added experience to their technical team by appointing Richard Gariseb as the club’s new assistant coach ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Gariseb has already arrived in Nkurenkuru and has begun preparations for his new role as the club looks to build a strong technical structure for the season ahead.
The former Namibian footballer and former Okahandja United coach brings a wealth of experience from his playing and coaching career, having featured for clubs such as Orlando Pirates and South African outfit Bidvest Wits.
Gariseb started his professional career with Orlando Pirates, where he played from 1999 to 2003, before joining Orlando Pirates Windhoek between 2003 and 2005. He later moved to Bidvest Wits, making 40 appearances and scoring two goals from 2005 to 2007. He also had a loan spell at Orlando Pirates Windhoek in 2007 before returning to Bidvest Wits from 2008 to 2010, where he made 23 appearances. He concluded his playing career with Orlando Pirates Windhoek during the 2010/11 season.
Meanwhile, KK United FC are expected to announce their new head coach, who will take charge of the Nkurenkuru-based side in the upcoming campaign.
Speaking to The Updated World, the club chairperson, Sisanda Gabriel confirmed that the head coach has already been appointed and is expected to arrive in Nkurenkuru before the official announcement is made.
The newly appointed head coach will have the final say on the future of the two coaches who guided KK United FC to promotion to the Premier League.
The coach will assess whether they will remain part of his technical team or if changes will be made as the club prepares for its upcoming Premier League campaign.
However, the decision to bring in a new coach was mainly based on qualifications and the club’s desire to meet the required technical standards, rather than simply making changes within the coaching department.
The appointment of Gariseb forms part of KK United’s preparations as the club continues to strengthen its technical team ahead of the new season.
