Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa has revoked all land-related decisions made by the Katima Mulilo Town Council without his approval. The decision was announced on Thursday in a press statement issued by the Office of the Minister’s Representative.

According to the statement, the council allocated, sold, or leased land and managed council assets without obtaining the mandatory written approval from Minister Sankwasa, as required under Section 30(1)(i) of the Local Authorities Act of 1992. As a result, all such decisions have been cancelled with immediate effect.
