Newborn Baby Boy Found Abandoned in Church Bathroom, Police Search for Mother

Police in the Ohangwena Region are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing the mother of a newborn baby boy who was discovered abandoned at a church in the area.

According to reports, the infant was found in the male bathroom corridor at Omungwelume Betester Church in Omungwelume by community members. The baby was immediately rushed to the Omungwelume Clinic for medical attention.

The child was later transferred to Engela District Hospital for further care and monitoring.

Authorities have since launched efforts to locate the baby’s mother and determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment. Police are urging anyone with information that could help trace the woman to report to the nearest police station.
