The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced reporting arrangements for shortlisted candidates selected for the 17th Intake of its Voluntary National Service Training programme.

Shortlisted applicants from all 14 regions are required to undergo medical examinations before they can report for training. The examinations will take place at designated district hospitals and medical centres between 1 and 2 October 2026, according to the NYS.

Candidates who are declared medically fit will then proceed to their assigned training centres between 3 and 6 October 2026.

The training will be conducted at two NYS facilities: the Henties Bay Training Centre in the Erongo Region, approximately 70 kilometres from Swakopmund, and the Rietfontein Training Centre in the Otjozondjupa Region, about 40 kilometres from Grootfontein.
