Okongo Village Council Appoints National Youth Service as New Security Provider

The Okongo Village Council has officially announced the appointment of the National Youth Service (NYS) as its new security service provider, with the partnership taking effect on 1 May 2026.


According to the Council, the agreement will run for a period of three years and is expected to strengthen safety and security operations within the local authority. The newly deployed NYS officers have already commenced their duties, bringing what the Council described as a disciplined and professional approach to safeguarding council property and serving the community.

Council and management welcomed the uniformed officers and expressed confidence in the role they will play in enhancing security services for residents of Okongo. The local authority further stated that it looks forward to working closely with the NYS team throughout the duration of the partnership.
