Fifteen learners from the hostel at Rundu Secondary School have been admitted to the Rundu Intermediate Hospital after falling ill with suspected food poisoning.

It is believed the learners may have fallen ill after consuming meals served at the hostel on Monday. According to information available, lunch on the day included pap, soup and chicken, while dinner consisted of russians, bread and coffee.

Hostel superintendent Samuel Marungu indicated that a power outage experienced in Rundu on Sunday may have disrupted refrigeration at the hostel, potentially affecting the storage of food.
