A group of demonstrators on Monday staged a march in opposition to the United Democratic Party (UDP), which has been campaigning for the secession of the Zambezi Region from Namibia.

The marchers proceeded to the office of Zambezi Regional Governor Dorothy Kabula, where they planned to submit a petition outlining their concerns. In the petition, the demonstrators strongly discourage what they describe as a growing terrorist mentality and extremist ideology, which they believe threatens peace and unity in the region.

According to the organisers, the protest is aimed at safeguarding national cohesion and reinforcing the importance of maintaining Namibia’s territorial integrity. They emphasised that the Zambezi Region remains an integral part of the country and called on leaders and communities to work together in promoting dialogue, stability and development rather than division.

The situation remained calm as the demonstrators continued with their march under the observation of authorities.
