Two Workers Die During Repair Work at Windhoek Water Treatment Plant

Two men lost their lives on Friday afternoon while carrying out maintenance work at the Gammams Water Treatment Plant, located west of Windhoek.
Although the exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed, emergency responders at the scene indicated that the workers may have been exposed to poisonous gas while working in an underground section of the facility.
A third worker reportedly became unconscious after attempting to assist the two men. He was transported to hospital and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to preliminary information, the deceased were employed by a company contracted to conduct repair work at the water treatment plant. The two men are believed to have been a supervisor and a subordinate.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, and further details will be released once available.
