Walvis Bay Resident Dies After Fall From Apartment Block

A 63-year-old man from Walvis Bay has died after falling from the second floor of an apartment complex in the coastal town.
The incident happened on Wednesday morning, 28 January 2026, at around 08:49 at Hagin Court. Erongo police spokesperson Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula said officers responded to a report from a resident who found a man lying unconscious outside the building.
Upon arrival, police found Saint Gabriel Paramedics already at the scene. The man was lying on his back and had sustained serious injuries, including fractured ankles and head wounds, with blood visible at the scene.
According to witnesses, the deceased had earlier been seen walking along the second-floor corridor of the complex before he fell, landing in front of Unit 2.
He was rushed to the state hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead by health personnel.
Police confirmed that no suicide note was recovered, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
