African Stars Knock Out Mangasport to Keep CAF Champions League Dream Alive
African Stars FC have progressed to the next preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after defeating Gabon’s AS Mangasport 2-0 in the second leg.
The Namibian champions took the lead in the 14th minute through new signing Lawrence Doeseb, giving African Stars a 1-0 advantage on the night.
African Stars continued to push for a second goal and were eventually rewarded in the 55th minute when Liam April make it 2-0.
The victory levelled the tie at 3-3 on aggregate, but African Stars FC advanced to the next preliminary round on the away-goals rule.
The result keeps African Stars’ continental campaign alive as they now prepare for the next stage of the CAF Champions League.
