Classic FC extend lead at top of Hardap Second Division after another winning weekend

Classic FC moved a step closer to the Hardap Second Division title after extending their advantage at the top of the league standings to 15 points clear following another successful weekend of league action.

The league leaders maintained their impressive form with a 2-1 victory over Super Stars FC on Saturday, taking their tally to 44 points from 17 matches. With every team scheduled to play 22 league matches this season, Classic FC are firmly in control of the championship race and remain favourites to secure the title.

Behind the leaders, the battle for second place remains fiercely contested. Airborne FC occupy second position with 29 points from 16 matches after recording a convincing 4-0 victory over Daweb Stars FC on Saturday before being held to a 1-1 draw by Mighty United FC on Sunday. Super Stars FC are level on 29 points after bouncing back from their defeat to Classic FC with a thrilling 6-5 victory over Namibian Strikers FC.

Latinos FC strengthened their challenge for a top-three finish by defeating Namibian Strikers 3-2, moving to 28 points from 18 matches. Flying Eagles FC also enjoyed mixed fortunes over the weekend, defeating Aranos Dream Team 3-2 on Saturday before suffering a 3-1 loss to Tom and Jerry FC the following day. They remain fifth on the standings with 27 points from 16 matches.

Elsewhere, Bee Bob Brothers FC claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Tom and Jerry FC before sharing the points in an entertaining 3-3 draw with Aranos Dream Team FC. Mighty United FC collected four points from their two fixtures after beating Brothers Re-United FC 2-1 and drawing with Airborne FC, while Daweb Stars FC recovered from their heavy defeat to Airborne FC by defeating Brothers Re-United FC 2-1 on Sunday.

At the foot of the table, Aranos Dream Team FC continue to face an uphill battle after collecting just one point from their two matches over the weekend. They remain rooted to the bottom of the standings with five points from 16 matches as the fight to avoid relegation intensifies.

With five rounds of fixtures still remaining for most clubs, the race for promotion and the battle to avoid the bottom places promise an exciting finish to the Hardap Second Division season.
