Cristiano Ronaldo Moves to 978 Career Goals as Al Nassr Beat Al Taawoun

Cristiano Ronaldo moved another step closer to the historic 1,000-goal milestone after scoring the winning goal as Al Nassr came from behind to defeat Al Taawoun 2-1 in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
The Portuguese superstar struck in the 50th minute at Al-Awwal Park, completing Al Nassr’s comeback after Al Taawoun had taken an early lead. The goal was Ronaldo’s 978th career goal, leaving him just 22 goals away from reaching 1,000.
Al Taawoun opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Bassam Mohammed Alhurayji, putting Al Nassr under pressure early in the match.

Samu then restored parity shortly before half-time before Ronaldo delivered the decisive moment shortly after the restart, firing Al Nassr into a 2-1 lead.
The victory keeps Al Nassr’s strong start to the campaign going, while Ronaldo continues to add to a career tally that has now reached 978 goals.
At 41, Ronaldo remains firmly focused on the remarkable target of becoming the first player to reach 1,000 career goals, with 22 more strikes required to reach the landmark.
