FIFA-CAF Programme Donates 250 Footballs to Oshana Schools
Schools across the Oshana Region are set to benefit from a donation of 250 footballs through the FIFA-CAF Football for Schools Programme, aimed at promoting youth football and encouraging learning through sport.
The footballs were handed over through the Oshana Regional Football Association to the Oshana Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU), which will oversee their distribution to schools in the region.
The donation consists of 220 size-four footballs and 30 size-five footballs. The equipment will be allocated to schools with Grade 8 learners, as well as selected primary schools, with each institution expected to receive two footballs.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by FIFA and CAF to strengthen football development at grassroots level while supporting educational programmes through sport. By providing schools with essential equipment, the programme aims to increase participation in football and create more opportunities for young players to develop their skills from an early age.
Regional football and education stakeholders have welcomed the donation, describing it as a positive step towards improving access to sporting resources and nurturing future talent within the Oshana Region.
