Kandjimi Murangi SSS Thrash Oshikunde SSS 3-0 to Reclaim Oshela Trophy

Kandjimi Murangi Senior Secondary School (KMSSS) from the Kavango West Region were crowned champions of the annual Oshela Secondary School Tournament held in Okongo, Ohangwena Region, over the weekend, securing the title for the third time in the school’s history.
The victory marked another successful chapter for KMSSS, who previously won the competition in 2019 and 2022. After suffering heartbreak in last year’s final, where they lost 5-4 on penalties to Oshikunde following a goalless draw, the Kavango West side returned with determination and avenged that defeat in style.
KMSSS defeated Oshikunde Senior Secondary School 3-0 in this year’s final, with star striker Hausiku Kamanya, popularly known as “Abi”, netting a brace, while Kamanya Andreas added the third goal. The team displayed composure and character against a physically stronger Oshikunde side.

Kamanya, 18, finished as the tournament’s top scorer. The talented forward recently joined Young Western Fighters from Nankudu XI in the Kavango West Football League for a reported transfer fee of N$7,000 and is also a key player for the Kavango West Under-20 team.
KMSSS goalkeeper Anton Robert was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament after producing impressive performances throughout the competition.

The Player of the Tournament award went to Kangumbe Gerson, who plays for KK United. The midfielder is a member of the Kavango West Under-20 side and has also represented Namibia at Under-17 level.

Team captain Hamusira John lifted the trophy for the second time, while head coach Nelson Iiyambo celebrated his third title with the school.

The latest triumph further strengthens Kandjimi Murangi SSS’s reputation as one of the leading school football teams in Namibia and send warning to Top Score Elite Champion.
