Kuching City FC Clarifies Petrus Shitembi Is Not Leaving the Club

Kuching City FC has clarified that Namibian midfielder Petrus Shitembi is not leaving the club, dismissing speculation sparked by an emotional farewell video shared on the club’s social media platforms.
The confusion arose after the club posted a tribute featuring Shitembi thanking supporters, leading many fans to believe he had departed following reported contract negotiations.
However, responding to The Updated World’s Facebook post, Kuching City FC explained that the video was only a temporary farewell during the off-season.
“Part ways for awhile during offseason only. Watch the video. 😘,” the club commented.

The final part of the video also confirms that Shitembi will remain with Kuching City FC.
The experienced Namibian international has been one of Kuching City’s standout performers, playing more minutes than any other player in the squad during the 2025/26 Malaysian Super League season. He made 24 league appearances, scored three goals, registered one assist, and played 2,134 minutes, helping the club finish second in the league.
The clarification means supporters can expect Shitembi to return to the club when preparations begin for the new season, with the midfielder set to continue his journey with Kuching City FC.
