Ivory Coast secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Ecuador thanks to a late strike from Amad Diallo, keeping pace with Group E leaders Germany after the opening round of matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ecuador and Curacao occupy third and fourth place respectively after suffering defeats in their opening fixtures.
