Hundreds Young Footballers Attend Green World Soccer Links Trials in Rundu

Hundreds of young footballers starting from under 14 to under 21 turned up at Rundu Sport Stadium to showcase their talents during trials organised by Green World Soccer Links in partnership with Pro-Soccer Scout Netherlands, as they seek opportunities to advance their football careers.
The trials were overseen by Green World Soccer Links founder Titus Bock Conteh, who addressed the players before the sessions began, urging them to take the opportunity seriously.
Conteh told the aspiring footballers that the academy had helped send players to major clubs in Europe, including Tottenham Hotspur FC, as well as clubs in Turkey.
Two-Stage Selection Process
Explaining the selection process, Conteh said the trials were divided into two stages, with the first phase involving the identification and selection of players across the country.
Players who are successful in the first stage will be contacted through email or WhatsApp and invited to participate in the second phase, which is scheduled to take place in Windhoek in November over three days.
He explained that the second stage would focus on producing individual football highlight videos to help showcase the selected players to potential opportunities abroad.
According to Conteh, the company will arrange accommodation and provide transport between the accommodation and Windhoek Independence Stadium during the video-shooting period.
Each selected player is expected to feature in footage covering 18 matches. Conteh said the company plans to hire NBC and other service providers to handle the recording and editing of the videos.
The completed highlight videos will then be uploaded to FIFA-related platforms and other websites where they can be accessed by football agencies and scouts in Europe.
Conteh explained that producing professional highlight videos requires significant financial resources and extensive work, as each player needs quality footage from 18 matches.
“Highlight videos are very expensive because they require a lot of work. Remember, such players must have their own videos from 18 matches, and the videos must be of good quality,” he said.
He added that the estimated cost would be N$5,000 per player. However, taking into consideration the financial challenges faced by some players, the company would contribute N$3,000, while each player would be expected to pay the remaining N$2,000.
The contribution is intended to cover part of the cost of producing the highlight videos for the selected players.
Conteh also revealed that the company had purchased a mansion intended to serve as an academy or boarding facility, with the capacity to accommodate 60 players.
According to him, the property has 30 bedrooms and facilities that include a swimming pool. He said the players would be required to provide their own food while staying at the facility.
The initiative aims to give young footballers an opportunity to develop their abilities and gain exposure to potential opportunities in professional football.
