Joel Nambahu Donates Sports Equipment to Army Battle School

The Army Battle School (ABS) at Oshivelo has received a fresh boost to its sporting programmes after local businessman Mr. Joel Nambahu donated sports equipment worth approximately N$9 200.
The sponsorship, handed over on Monday, 11 May 2026, included football and netball kits as well as sports balls aimed at supporting athletes at the military institution.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Nambahu said the donation forms part of his commitment to giving back to the community and supporting institutions that play an active role in local development.
He noted that ABS continues to participate in various sporting activities, including football, netball and volleyball, adding that the sponsorship would help soldiers improve their training and further develop their sporting talent.
“ABS is an establishment that actively participates in sports activities, and I believe this contribution will assist members to train effectively and continue showcasing their abilities through sport,” he said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, ABS Commandant Colonel Given Liyali Numwa expressed gratitude for the continued support from the businessman.
Numwa said the donated items would be used responsibly and highlighted the importance of sport in strengthening unity and community relations. He further encouraged members of the institution to continue representing ABS positively in sporting events around Oshivelo and beyond.
This marks the second sponsorship by Nambahu to the Army Battle School, following a similar donation made in 2023.
