Shimooshili Elected to COSAFA Executive Committee

Namibia Football Association president Robert Shimooshili has been elected as a member of the COSAFA Executive Committee during the Electoral Annual General Meeting held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The announcement confirms Shimooshili’s place in regional football leadership for the term 2026 to 2029, strengthening Namibia’s representation within Southern African football governance structures.
The elections also confirmed the full COSAFA Executive Committee leadership lineup for the new term:
President: Tariq Babitseng (Botswana)
Vice-President: Alfred Randriamanampisoa (Madagascar)
Ordinary Members:
Brenda Kunda (Zambia)
Lijane Nthunya (Lesotho)
Ngobile Magwizi (Zimbabwe)
Robert Shimooshili (Namibia)
Peter Simelane (Eswatini)
Co-Opted Members:
Linda Zwane (South Africa)
Irene Gonçalves (Angola)
Shimooshili’s election is seen as an important achievement for Namibian football, giving the country a direct voice in regional decision-making for the next cycle. The COSAFA Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing competitions, development programmes, and key administrative policies across member associations in Southern Africa.
