Cannabis worth N$597,000 seized at Nankudu village, Kavango West

A police stop-and-search operation in Kavango West led to the seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of N$597,000 on Friday afternoon.

The operation was carried out at Nankudu village at approximately 17h00 on 13 February 2026. Officers confiscated cannabis weighing 11.94 kilograms.

Kavango West Regional Commander confirmed that two Angolan nationals, a 36-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman — were arrested after being found in possession of the drugs.

The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday, 16 February 2026. Police investigations remain ongoing.
