Three Arrested After Stolen Goods From The Truck Worth N$5,700 Recovered in Ondangwa

Stolen food supplies valued at more than N$5,700 were recovered by police in Ondangwa after officers traced the goods to a shack in the Onguta location early Sunday morning.
According to police reports, the merchandise had been taken from a delivery truck that was parked at the receiving bay of Shoprite in the Oluno area. The truck driver, who works for Crystal Gold Caterserve, had reportedly parked the vehicle around 22:00 on Saturday while waiting to offload the cargo the following day.
The driver allegedly fell asleep inside the truck but was awakened at about 04:00 by another truck driver who noticed that the tarpaulin covering the load had been cut. Upon checking the vehicle, shoe prints were spotted near the scene.
With assistance from a security guard stationed nearby, the footprints were followed to a shack in Onguta. Police were alerted and responded promptly.
Upon entering the shack, officers found five men inside. Three suspects, aged 24, 28 and 36, were arrested at the scene, while two others managed to escape.
The recovered items included boxes of Nutrific wholewheat biscuits, two-litre bottles of cooking oil, 10kg bags of Quality Select rice and five-litre bottles of Mangalie Tropical Punch juice.
Police investigations continue as efforts intensify to apprehend the two suspects who remain at large.
