Failed Arson Attempt Reported in Windhoek

Police in Katutura are investigating an attempted arson incident that was reported on Saturday, 28 February 2026, in Ema Schumacher Street.

According to police information, a suspect allegedly poured petrol on a house at around 16h00 with the intention of setting it alight. The attempt was unsuccessful as the fire did not ignite.

Following the failed arson attempt, the suspect is said to have thrown stones at another door on the property, causing damage estimated at N$20,000.

No arrests have been made, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
