Unidentified Man Found Dead Beneath Rundu Bridge, Police Launch Investigation

Police in the Kavango East Region have opened an investigation after the body of an unidentified man was discovered under a bridge in Rundu today.
The remains were found Wednesday morning along Maria Mwengere Street by a community member, who promptly informed the authorities. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and secured the area while conducting initial inquiries.
Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, the region’s Crime Investigations Coordinator, said the deceased is believed to be a member of the San community and is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. At the time of the discovery, he was dressed in a dark blue jersey and white denim shorts.
Paramedics who attended the scene certified the man dead. Police reported that no visible signs of suspicious injuries were observed on the body.
The remains were transported to the mortuary at Rundu State Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are working to trace the deceased’s relatives in order to confirm his identity and notify his next of kin.
