Man dies by hanging after daughter’s suicide attempt in Okarukoro area

A 48-year-old man was found dead after allegedly hanging himself from a Mopane tree at a farm in the Okarukoro area in the Kamanjab district on Friday, following an incident in which his daughter reportedly tried to take her own life.
According to the police weekend crime report, the deceased, identified as Salaria Kstana (48), allegedly had an argument with his daughter shortly before the tragedy. The daughter is said to have attempted suicide, but family members managed to rescue her in time.
Police say the man was later discovered hanging from a tree at the farm. His next of kin have been informed, and no foul play is suspected at this stage. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
In a separate incident, the body of Nghende Festus (45) was discovered hanging from a tree in a bushy area in Kuvukiland near Tsumeb. The body was found by a passerby who alerted the authorities.
Police confirmed that no foul play has been detected in the second case. Relatives of the deceased have been notified, and investigations are ongoing.
