Six Arrested Following Suspected Mob Justice Attack in Oshana

Authorities in the Oshana Region have taken six individuals into custody after a violent incident on Friday night, believed to be linked to mob justice.
Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, confirmed that the assault occurred at approximately 23:00 along a gravel road near the municipal graveyard in Othingo Village, Oshakati West Constituency.
According to Shikwambi, the six suspects, all residents of the village, reportedly attacked the main victim using fresh palm branches, camel thorn branches, and their bare hands. The victim was discovered completely naked at the scene.
The suspected motive for the assault appears to be vigilante justice, as the deceased was allegedly suspected of housebreaking in the area.
In a related attack, a 28-year-old male was also assaulted and stripped during the same incident. He is currently receiving treatment at Oshakati Intermediate State Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown, as authorities are still attempting to locate next of kin.
