Man, 65, Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot in Usakos

Authorities in Usakos have confirmed a suspected suicide incident after a 65-year-old man was found with a fatal gunshot wound at his residence in the Bo-Dorp location.
The deceased, identified as Gabriel Jordaan, reportedly shot himself in the chest using a revolver on Friday, 10 April 2026. According to details contained in the police weekend crime report, investigators at the scene established that only one shot had been fired. The firearm was found with four live rounds still loaded, along with a single spent cartridge.
It is further understood that at the time of the incident, Jordaan was in a separate room from his wife, who was elsewhere in the house.
Medical personnel later confirmed his death, and the body has since been transported to the mortuary at the local state hospital in Usakos. Police have notified the next of kin as part of standard procedure.
