African Stars FC have secured a spot in the 2025 MTC Maris Cup final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bucks Buccaneers FC in the semi-finals. They will now face Young African FC in the final on 29 March 2025, where the winner will take home N$1.5 million.

In the semi-final match, Bucks Buccaneers took the lead in the 25th minute after an own goal by Hambira. However, African Stars quickly responded, with Kambanda scoring the equalizer in the 30th minute. Just seven minutes later, Youssouf netted the winning goal, sealing their place in the final.

On the other side, Young African FC defeated UNAM 3-1, extending their unbeaten record in all competitions.

Now, all eyes are on the final. Can Young African FC defeat African Stars once again? Despite winning back-to-back Debmarine League titles, African Stars have struggled against Young African FC, also known as Chula-Chula FC, losing to them multiple times.

Meanwhile, Young African FC has been involved in controversy with Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) FC. Reports suggested that NCS FC, now called Green Family, wanted to buy Young African’s league status to return to top-tier football. NCS FC had been removed from the league due to ownership issues, as both NCS FC and Khomas NamPol are linked to the Ministry of Safety and Security, which is against league rules. However, Young African’s owner, Maleagi Ngarizemo, denied the sale, stating that while talks happened, no deal was made.

As the final approaches, fans eagerly await to see if African Stars can break their losing streak or if Young African will continue their dominance.
