MTC brings services closer to Okongo residents with new Mobile Home

Residents of Okongo and surrounding areas will no longer have to travel long distances to access basic telecommunications services following the opening of a new MTC Mobile Home in the town.
The outlet, which is MTC’s 40th customer service point countrywide, was officially opened this week as part of the company’s efforts to expand its footprint and improve access to its services in rural communities.
Before the opening, many customers from Okongo had to travel almost 100 kilometres to Eenhana for services such as SIM card registration and replacement, contract applications, account payments, MTC Maris transactions and purchasing recharge vouchers.
MTC Corporate Communications Practitioner Erasmus Nekundi said the expansion forms part of the company’s commitment to making telecommunications services more accessible, particularly as communities continue to grow and demand for digital services increases. For local residents, the new outlet is expected to reduce transport costs and save time.
Tangeni Shinedima welcomed the development, saying the availability of MTC services in Okongo would make life easier for customers who previously had to travel outside the town.
MTC said it will continue expanding its retail network, with plans to open additional outlets in Walvis Bay, Windhoek, Omaruru, Otjinene and Outjo.
