NFA Disqualifies Omaheke After Finding Serious League Administration Irregularities

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) Executive Council has disqualified the Omaheke Regional Football Association from participating in the 2026 Southern Stream First Division Zonal Promotion Play-Offs following concerns over the administration and integrity of its 2025/2026 league competition.
The decision was taken after the NFA Executive Council reviewed a detailed submission presented by the Acting General Secretary, which highlighted several governance, documentation and operational shortcomings within the Omaheke Regional Football Association’s league administration.
According to the NFA, the concerns raised affected the credibility and fairness of the competition and required immediate corrective action to ensure compliance with the association’s Statutes, Regulations and governance standards.
Among the key issues identified by the Executive Council were serious concerns regarding the integrity of the Omaheke Regional Football Association’s 2025/2026 league competition, incomplete documentation submitted to the NFA Secretariat, and a failure to prove that disciplinary proceedings were conducted in line with NFA rules and regulations.
The NFA further found that the Regional Disciplinary Committee responsible for handling disciplinary matters was not lawfully constituted, raising concerns about the validity of decisions taken during the competition.
Following its deliberations, the Executive Council resolved, in accordance with Article 20.4 of the NFA Statutes and Rule 5.1 of the NFA Rules and Regulations, to remove Omaheke Regional Football Association from the Southern Stream First Division 2026 Zonal Promotion Play-Offs.
The NFA stated that the decision was taken to protect the integrity, credibility and fairness of its competitions.
In addition, the NFA Secretariat has been instructed to initiate or facilitate an independent investigation into the administration of the Omaheke Regional Football Association’s 2025/2026 league competition, including the disciplinary processes linked to the reported irregularities.
The regional association will only be allowed to participate in future NFA competitions once the Executive Council is satisfied that all outstanding concerns have been addressed.
This includes the completion of investigations, the proper establishment of disciplinary structures in line with the NFA Constitution and Statutes, correction of governance shortcomings, and full compliance with the NFA Disciplinary Code and competition regulations.
The NFA Executive Council reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability and fair play across all football competitions under its administration, stressing that member associations must uphold the highest standards of governance.
