10-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling From Roof While Retrieving Ball in Oshikoto

A 10-year-old boy died after allegedly falling from the roof of a house while trying to retrieve a ball at Otaambembunya village in the Omuthiya Constituency, Oshikoto Region, on Saturday.

According to the Namibian Police, the boy, an Angolan national, had been playing with other children when their ball landed on the roof of a nearby house.

Police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said the child climbed onto the roof to fetch the ball but allegedly slipped and fell.

During the fall, he reportedly sustained a deep cut to his upper arm from a zinc sheet. Police believe the severe injury caused significant bleeding, which resulted in his death.

The police have opened an investigation into the incident.
