Onandjokwe medical doctor Dennis Iipumbu Noa will remain behind bars after the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court postponed his formal bail application to September.

Noa, 31, appeared before Magistrate Nelao Ya France on Monday, where the matter had been scheduled for a formal bail hearing.

However, proceedings were delayed after his newly appointed legal representative, Biance Boois, informed the court that she had recently taken over the case and needed more time to consult with her client and prepare the application.

The court granted the request and ordered that Noa remain in custody until the matter returns to court in September for the bail application.

Noa was arrested after allegedly raping a 26 year old man at his flat at Onandjokwe Hospital over a week ago.

The case remains under police investigation.
