Hull City Move Second After Back-to-Back Premier League Wins
Hull City have made a remarkable start to their return to the Premier League, securing a second consecutive victory with a narrow 1–0 win over Coventry City on Saturday.
The newly promoted side followed up their impressive 2–0 victory over Manchester United in the opening weekend by claiming another three points away from home against Coventry.
The match looked set to finish goalless, with Coventry unable to convert several opportunities despite enjoying periods of pressure. Hull remained disciplined and waited for their opportunity on the counter.
That moment arrived in the 82nd minute when substitute Liam Millar finished a swift counter-attack to give Hull the lead. Mohamed Belloumi provided the assist as the visitors punished Coventry late in the game.
Coventry pushed for an equaliser during the final stages, but Hull held on to claim another valuable victory.
The result means Hull have collected six points from their opening two matches, having beaten Manchester United and Coventry without conceding a goal. Their perfect start has lifted them to second place in the Premier League table after the second round of fixtures.
For Coventry, the defeat leaves them still searching for their first point and first goal of the Premier League campaign after opening with a 3–0 loss to defending champions Arsenal.
