Top Cheri bag Three Nominations at Zikomo Africa & Caribbean Awards
Namibian singer, Monica Pineas aka TopCheri has added another international milestone to her growing career after receiving three nominations at the 2026 Zikomo Africa & Caribbean Awards, which are scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The nominations come shortly after the Namibian artist was recognised at the Shining Star Africa Awards in Kigali, Rwanda, where she won Best Southern African Star Artist of the Year (2025/26).
Top Cheri is now competing in three categories at the Zikomo Awards:
- Best Zikomo Female Artist – Southern and East Africa
- Best Performing Artist of the Year
- Best Zikomo Music Video – “Running” featuring Kachazi
The singer has also confirmed that she will perform live at the awards ceremony, giving her another opportunity to represent Namibia on an international stage.
The Zikomo Africa & Caribbean Awards are an international awards platform that recognises talent and achievements across Africa and the Caribbean. The awards cover a wide range of fields, including music, film and television, media, fashion, business, leadership, literature and social impact.
The awards organisation, which originated in Zambia, has expanded its reach beyond the country, with previous ceremonies held in different African cities. The 2026 ceremony is scheduled for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on December 9. The event is expected to bring together nominees and creatives from different parts of Africa and the Caribbean.
The 2026 edition is reported to feature 90 awards across seven broad categories, making TopCheri’s three nominations significant as she competes alongside artists and creatives from across the continent.
Zikomo describes its awards as a platform for recognising African talent, creativity, leadership and humanitarian impact, with public voting forming part of the selection process.
For Top Cheri, the latest nominations further strengthen her growing presence beyond Namibia and add to what has already been a successful international awards run.
Voting information is expected to be available through the official Zikomo Africa Awards platform as the respective categories become active by 05 October 2026.
