African Stars Receive N$250,000 Grant Ahead Of CAF Champions League Clash With Orlando Pirates

Namibian champions African Stars FC have received a N$250,000 preparatory grant from the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign.

The club confirmed the financial support in a statement dated 17 September 2026, saying the grant will assist with preparations and other requirements for its participation in Africa’s premier club competition.

African Stars are set to face South African giants Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round, with the first leg scheduled for 17 October 2026 at the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone, Botswana.

African Stars thanked the ministry for its support, saying the contribution will assist the club as it prepares for its continental campaign.
