Brave Warriors Receive Warm Welcome in Russia Ahead of International Friendly
Namibia’s Brave Warriors have arrived in Russia as preparations continue for their upcoming international friendly against the Russian national team.
The Namibian delegation was welcomed in a special ceremony upon arrival, with players and officials receiving traditional gifts symbolising the culture and heritage of the Ural region.
Each member of the delegation was presented with a piece of green malachite, a stone closely associated with the Ural Mountains and the region’s history. They were also given traditional welcoming bands as part of the reception.
The Brave Warriors will now turn their attention to their match against Russia, scheduled for 3 October 2026 in Yekaterinburg.
The fixture provides Namibia with an opportunity to test itself against European opposition as the team continues its preparations for upcoming international competitions.
The match is also expected to give head coach and his technical team an opportunity to assess players and combinations against a different style of football.
The Brave Warriors’ arrival marks the beginning of their stay in Russia, with the squad expected to complete its preparations ahead of the international encounter.
