Chelsea returned from the international break with a 2-0 Premier League victory over Everton on Saturday, 17 October 2026, thanks to two second-half goals from Portuguese winger Pedro Neto.

Chelsea improved significantly after the break, controlling the match and limiting Everton’s attacking threat. The result also secured the visitors their first Premier League clean sheet in nine months.

The match was overshadowed by an injury to Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who was stretchered off in the 75th minute following a collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Mike Penders came on to replace him and made his Premier League debut.
