Police in Rundu have launched an urgent manhunt after a woman was attacked and raped in the Nkarapamwe location during the early hours of Saturday.
The 40-year-old victim, who was walking to a friend’s house after leaving the System Pub Bar, was ambushed near the four-way stop close to Pick n Pay around 01h00, according to the police.
Reports indicate that an unknown man confronted her, violently assaulted her by hitting her on the head with a bottle, and then raped her after she collapsed.
The suspect, who remains unidentified, fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Authorities have appealed to the public to assist with any information that may help track down the perpetrator as investigations continue.
