What began as a missing person’s case has now turned into a murder investigation after the body of 55-year-old Anita Antoinette De Koker was discovered earlier this month.
De Koker, a resident of Rehoboth, was last seen on 3 July 2025. Her disappearance was officially reported to the police five days later, on 8 July. A week after the report, on 11 July, her lifeless body was found in an open area near the MTC tower behind the NHE houses in Block G (commonly known as Burgershoek).
According to the Namibian Police, the cause of death was not immediately clear. However, following a postmortem conducted on 16 July, it was determined that De Koker died from blunt force trauma to the head.
No arrests have been made so far, but investigations are ongoing. Next of kin have been notified.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
