
A daring armed robbery unfolded on Friday afternoon at Rani Mini Market in Uupindi, Oshakati, where suspects made off with prepaid recharge vouchers valued at over N$25 000.
According to a police report, the incident occurred around 15h55 when four unidentified men targeted a delivery truck that had stopped at the market. Two of the suspects were reportedly armed with pistols.
The assailants arrived in a silver Toyota Corolla and ambushed a man who was closing the loading box of a mini truck. One of the armed suspects pointed a gun at the victim, prompting him to flee in fear. In his attempt to escape, the man dropped a cooler box he had just removed from the vehicle.
The robbers allegedly seized the cooler box, which contained prepaid airtime vouchers worth N$25 254.00 and the keys to the truck, before speeding off toward Uupindi location.
No arrests have been made, and none of the stolen items have been recovered.
