
A promising Grade 11 student from Matumbo Angeline Ribebe Secondary School in the Kavango East Region has earned an exceptional opportunity to advance his education abroad. Seventeen-year-old Anton Kanyanga has been granted a three-year scholarship to attend the African Olympiad Academy in Rwanda, a renowned residential high school specializing in advanced Mathematics, Science, and Critical Thinking.
Kanyanga will depart for Windhoek this Thursday before continuing to Kigali on 1 September to commence his studies as part of the academy’s September intake.
Teachers and fellow students bid him farewell on Monday, lauding his dedication, perseverance, and outstanding academic achievements.

Anton’s exceptional talent was previously recognized at the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO) in July in Gaborone, Botswana. Following this, he represented Namibia at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) held in Queensland, Australia, from 10 to 20 July, showcasing his skills on a global stage.
