“He Will Die in Plane Crash, Save This Post”: 2025 Prediction About Wicknell Chivayo’s Death Resurfaces

An old social media post in which Susan Mutami predicted that Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo would die in an aircraft crash has resurfaced following his death in a helicopter crash in Marondera.
Mutami made the post on X in May 2025, more than a year before Chivayo was killed in the fatal aviation accident.
In the post, Mutami wrote: “He’s actually going to die in a plane crash. Save this post.” The message, which specifically referred to Chivayo, has now attracted renewed attention online because of the circumstances surrounding his death.

Chivayo, a prominent Zimbabwean businessman popularly known as Sir Wicknell, died on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, when a helicopter carrying six people crashed in the Marondera Rural area, southeast of Harare.
Zimbabwean authorities confirmed that there were no survivors. Chivayo’s wife, Lucy Muteke, was also among those reported killed in the crash. President Emmerson Mnangagwa subsequently confirmed Chivayo’s death.
The aircraft went down at around 5pm, with police and emergency personnel responding to the scene. Authorities have not yet established the cause of the crash, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
The Prediction Resurfaces
Following news of Chivayo’s death, screenshots of Mutami’s 2025 post began circulating again across social media.
The timing has led some users to describe the post as a prediction that appeared to come true. Others have questioned how Mutami arrived at the statement when she made it more than a year before the crash.
However, the available evidence establishes that the post existed and was published before Chivayo’s death. It does not establish that Mutami had advance knowledge of the crash or that the statement was a supernatural prophecy.
There is also a factual difference between the prediction and the eventual tragedy: Mutami referred to a plane crash, while Chivayo died in a helicopter crash.
Chivayo’s Final Journey
According to reports, Chivayo and his wife had spent time at their rural property in the Gandami area before travelling towards Harare when the helicopter crashed.
The businessman had become widely known in Zimbabwe for his lavish lifestyle, high-profile social media presence and close relationships with prominent political, business and religious figures. His death has since triggered widespread reaction both in Zimbabwe and across the region.
As investigations continue, the resurfaced 2025 post remains one of the most widely discussed aspects of the tragedy, with social media users revisiting the unusual timing of Mutami’s prediction.
