
A 32-year-old woman from Omdel location in Henties Bay has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her brother during a late-night family altercation, leading to his death.
The incident happened around 23:20 on Friday in Hendrick Witbooi Street, Erongo police Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula confirmed. Reports indicate that the woman had just returned home from a bar when she found her 25-year-old brother and their mother at the residence.
An argument reportedly broke out between the mother and the deceased, during which the young man is said to have struck his mother on the forehead with an unknown object. The sister then intervened, allegedly stabbing him in the neck with a knife.
Paramedics from Life Link rushed the victim to the Henties Bay Clinic before he was transferred to Swakopmund State Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 September, facing a charge of murder. Police investigations into the matter continue.
