
Police in Walvis Bay have confiscated 34 suspected abortion tablets during an operation that led to the arrest of a 22-year-old woman.
The operation was carried out at a service station in Kuisebmund after officers received intelligence about a vehicle transporting a suspicious parcel to the coastal town. Upon searching the parcel, police discovered the tablets, valued at approximately N$8,500.
Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula of the Erongo police confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect was taken into custody for contravening the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act 13 of 2003.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court today.
